The Owl is a unique music venue in Prospect Lefferts, Brooklyn, NY. This 10-year old spot is home of a vibrant group of young (and not so young) musicians who are pushing the edges of songwriting. Curated and run with great care and love, this is a place that has given me (and many others) a great deal of pleasure. The Owl will be closing at the end of 2025, and I’m working to create a portrait of a place and of the people who make it special.
As part of this project, I’m collecting stories from people who have a story, a memory, a poem, an essay—any kind of recollection you want to share. (If you don’t want to write, it’s fine to send me a voice memo. I’ll transcribe it.)
